J'attends toujours le billet d'avion qui devrait me permettre d'aller à Paris le 18 septembre. Je dois y faire une conférence sur la communication scientifique dont le titre est "Communication skills". Ce n'est pas avec ce titre qu'ils m'avaient décidé à intervenir car, s'ils m'avaient annoncé cette formulation, j'aurais tout simplement refusé. Mais voilà. On se fait piéger quand on ne demande pas toutes les précisions utiles. Ceci dit, maintenant c'est fait. Je n'ai plus le choix. Je dois préparer un topo sur ce thème. Je devrais peut-être relire Philippe Breton pour avoir quelques idées plus ou moins conformes aux attentes.

J'ai trouvé un texte hier, en anglais, en vue d'une action de solidarité avec le peuple palestinien. Le texte est intéressant et pourrait peut-être donner lieu à une action d'envergure. Le voici:

What do we mean when we allude to the word « solidarity » with regards to the Palestinian people who are clearly victims of abuse of power, arbitrary imprisonment, segregation, wanton violence on behalf of the Israeli government ? Such solidarity feelings might express themselves in our signed approval of petitions, participation in demonstrations in reaction of dramatic events, support of the BDS movement, or even financial help for militant associations and networks in defence of the rights of Palestinians.  But in spite of these commitments, many people who are disgusted by the apartheid policies of the Israeli government, cannot help feeling powerless when confronted with the constant worsening of the life of Palestinians ; in spite of our willingness and our generosity, our everyday life is hardly affected by our engagement in support of this martyred people.

There are ways through which our solidarity could become more concrete.  We know that our actions already matter to the Palestinians, it gives them moral support for their own resistance activities (collective hunger strikes among prisoners, intifadas, etc. ) But the situations remain tragic.

This proposal aims at extending this expression of solidarity  worldwide. We are thousands and thousands through the world who are outraged by the oppression to which Palestinians are subjected.  Among us there are politicians, artists, writers, academics, religious personalities, businessmen, film stars, as well as many many ordinary people who are horrified by a government that places itself above all human rights and international law.

Next year, at a very precise date, millions of people all over the world will be exhorted to start a hunger strike aiming at protesting against the humiliation and sufferings of the Palestinians. A big mediatic resonance would increase the effect of such a collective action. Journalists and TV reporters will be invited to control the effectiveness of our common decision. One should make it impossible for the Israeli government to ignore or bypass this incredible wave of concrete solidarity.

The organisation of this event will take some time. All the associations involved in the defence of Palestinian rights will be invited to participate and organise this worldwide operation.
